Derek French is a freelance photographer and photo editor whose work spans documentary, portraiture, sports, and entertainment photography. His perseverance in on-the-ground reporting since 2020 paved the way for Derek to grow roots in photo editing as Business Insider's Photo Fellow in Fall 2024. In his work, Derek's strong empathic behavior is reflected with a deep sensitivity to the subjects' emotions, stories, and experiences.
Derek is a frequent contributor to Shutterstock Editorial, SOPA Images, and Imago. His clients are UPI, New York Road Runners, the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN), and SAG-AFTRA.
