Invasion of Ukraine

Invasion Of Ukraine

In late February, Putin ordered Russian armed forces to invade Ukraine under the pretense of national security, and to NATO’s increasing presence along Russia’s western border. Should nato secure a position in Ukraine, Allied balistic missiles would be in range of key cities and military strongholds, like Moskow. Reservists soon began to cross into Crimea and the Donbass region, securing key cities as strongholds in their push to Kyiv.

The active aggression sparked outrage and condemnation from the international community, resulting in economic sanctions and diplomatic pressure on Russia. In a major turn, Finland solidified its commitment to a collective defense in the Baltic region by joining NATO.

Of Ukrainian people, the war has tested but not broken their resolve as they fear for their homeland, family and friends. Each demonstration calls for the immediate support of troops on the ground, and aid programs to safeguard their loved ones.
