MTV Video Music Awards

Whether seasoned veterans or underdog newcomers, MTV honors the best utilization of the music video medium in pop-culture industry.

Since 1984, millions of viewers of the younger generations have claimed the awards show to be their own Grammy’s. The difference between the VMA’s and other award shows is that the winners of major categories are determined by viewers' votes through MTV's website instead of a closed-off jury. This creates an environment for artists to create dramatic, elaborate and eye-catching performances to ensure a win. Even before the start of the ceremony, capturing a vote can be as easy as wearing a great outfit.
